Description

My charcter Kaylee, dressed in her business suit when she had short control over an lovers company when he died. It was brief, very brief.
Kyalee has no idea how to run a business, luckly he came back:lol:
I think she looked badass :p
I almost forgot to add, that snake like thing on her chest is a scar, not a tat. It was a curse mark that almost killed her. She barely notices it anymore.
Tools: Drawing paper, 2b pencils and sharpie pens. Colored in water and reg. colored pencils.
Took me two days to finish. Hope you like:D
Comments are welcome:heart:

Good day!
I'm writing on behalf of #Traditional-Artists - thank you for submitting your work to us for the first critique night! As promised, although we didn't get to you much during the session, here is the feedback from some of our critics.
Please remember that feedback is subjective and kindly meant, and that you're free to pick and choose which, if any, advice to implement in your work.
I also hope you'll participate in our Critique Nights in the future!

"First good impressions are: Good, strong color, good sense of her fabric jacket's form, and a plus for being an interesting character. About color, a lot of people are afraid of color but I can see that you are not. Her hair is bright yellow and red which is attractive. The points could be a subtler blend in there from gradual yellow to red, rather than geometric shapes. Get online and look for hair coloring examples or "short hairstyles" and copy what you see when someone has a short choppy hairstyle, you will learn a lot! I like her jacket also, it feels puffy and the black detail on her suspenders is a nice detail. If you worked from reference material for the jacket, or would like to, choose something with really specific lighting (i.e. the light is aiming from the right or above etc.) and copy the lighting you see -- your next awesome jacket will be even more awesome! Her eyes are also perfect details, and really give the drawing some power. Nice job on those!

The detail on the chest is confusing and my eyes went straight to it. It appeared to be an error before I read the description but even afterward it was jarring. The shapes of the scar are too large and too dark gray to be realistic. Again, more research will help you if you're bold enough to look up "scarring" or "large scars" and really have a good look at those. Her breasts are a little low also in relationship to the rest of her body, so take some time to plan out the human form lightly sketched before you begin. Have some reference material or art books open as you do so, that show you the proportions to follow. This is no handicap, everyone needs books, reference, and classes to represent the human body realistically."

"I really like the colour scheme, the red and black fit the character well! And the contrast with her green eyes looks pretty cool.
The shadow behind her bothers me, though. It's a good idea to give it more depth, but you can improve here. It would be more natural to have the shadow only on one side - but if you want front light, that's fine, I just think you might define it more clearly. Especially on the right side of her neck it doesn't follow her neckline, and thus destroys the illusion of depth.
The think I love most about it is the hair. It's such a vibrant colour combination and has quite some volume, it's not as flat as it is often seen. That's just great!
In my opinion you can show more courage at shadowing. You started off very well, and then it seems you got shy and stopped. Shading with a darker red under her arms and where the right shoulder get out of view with give it a more 3D-effect and a darker shade under her breasts even might make her more sexy.
You've got a fine grip on proportion, chest and face all look fine - and you really get across the character you describe! Keep it up!"

"I think this mostly suffers from the shadow/outline around the figure - either it should not be there, or be changed; A shadow would only circle part of the figure, say one side, rather than all around. Your anatomy is sound, well done, and she's taking a great pose. The only other thing I could recommend would be to show more "bend" in the suspender on our left."
